Week 3; Task 2- Questions
·
Which ideas
from the video reflect what the ELA teachers you interviewed are currently
doing to integrate technology with their literacy instruction?
Teachers are using things that the students have
access to and use daily and are weaving them into their lessons. This ensures
that the students are acquiring technological skills in conjunction with
cognitive skills. These can include: social networking, email/texting, blogging
and so on.
·
How can you
help change their instructional practices to include the use of technology and
the Internet in their literacy and content-area curriculum?
By encouraging the students to use the Internet
to research information about what they are learning, to collaborate and
communicate via blogging and networking, teachers can include technology within
their teaching curriculum and practices. Students can use the internet for
instructional texts. They can use technology such as Power Point, Prezi, and
other tools to present information and projects.
·
What
professional development and/or resources will they need in order to make these
changes?
Teachers will need internet access and sufficient
devices for all students or groups of students. They may need to attend
workshops or online training for the tools that they need to acquire so that
they can teach with technology effectively.
·
What ideas do
you have for grouping students so they will have equal access to technology in
the classroom?
Students can be grouped in groups of four to
complete projects. If the teacher needs them to work independently on something
and there aren’t enough resources, the students can be divided center-style
with them rotating from activity to activity thus ensuring that they all get a
chance with the resources being used.
